Organisations condemn crime against minors

DIMAPUR: Dimapur District Ladies Club (DDLC) and NSCN/GPRN-K Michael have strongly condemned the recent incidents of sexual assault and rape of minors in Dimapur and Phek, terming the acts as barbaric violations of human dignity and an affront to societal values.
In a press release, DDLC described the crime in Dimapur as a grave violation of human dignity, an attack on the innocence of a child, and an affront to the values of society. The club urged authorities to provide counselling, protection, and all necessary support to the victim and her family. It further reaffirmed its commitment to uphold justice, protect the vulnerable, and promote a culture of respect, dignity, and accountability. DDLC also prayed for the physical, emotional, and psychological recovery of the victim and for strength to her family.
Meanwhile, NSCN/GPRN-K Michael, through its MIP, expressed uncompromising moral condemnation of the alleged sexual abuse and rape of minors in Dimapur and Phek. It termed the act a profound violation of human dignity, betrayal of the sacred obligation of guardianship, and destruction of childhood innocence. The group asserted that perpetrators, regardless of identity, affiliation, or ethnic origin, must face full accountability without delay or exception, and called upon enforcing agencies to ensure protection for victims and guarantee that no offender escapes justice.
