DIMAPUR, JUN 12 (NPN): Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has announced an increase in the monthly residential sanitary fee (RSF) from Rs 80 to Rs 100, effective July 1, 2026, citing rising costs associated with waste management and sanitation services.
In a press note, DMC chief executive officer Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo said the decision was taken following a meeting with Dimapur-based civil society organisations held on March 30, 2026. The revised fee would be applicable to all residential households under the jurisdiction of DMC.
According to the council, the revision has become necessary due to the increasing expenditure on waste collection, transportation, disposal and overall sanitation management across the city.
DMC has appealed to residents to cooperate by ensuring timely payment of the revised fee, stating that additional revenue would help strengthen and sustain efficient sanitation services throughout Dimapur.
