Awareness programme on environmental issues held in Phek

DIMAPUR: An awareness programme on environmental issues was organised by the Phek district administration in collaboration with Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) at the DC’s Conference Hall, Phek, on June 12.
According to DIPR report, speaking at the programme, Deputy Commissioner Phek, Rhosietho Nguori, stressed that pollution control was a collective responsibility and urged citizens to adopt better waste management practices as part of their daily lives.
Presentations on ambient air quality and its impact, as well as solid waste management responsibilities, were delivered by Rongsenben Longkumer, Junior Scientific Assistant, NPCB, and Yanathung Kithan, Scientist ‘B’, NPCB.
The programme was chaired by Shevohu Nienu, chairperson of Phek Town Council, while ADC Phek, Thejakhrienuo Nisa, delivered the welcome address.
