NCM choir to represent India in Thailand cultural exchange project

The Nagaland Conservatory of Music (NCM) Choir will represent India at a cultural and educational exchange programme titled “Echoes of the Hills: Exploring the Choral Performances of India and Thailand” to be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from July 1 to 5.
The invitation was extended by the Indian Studies Center of Chiang Mai University, Thailand, to the Nagaland Conservatory of Music, an institution affiliated with Nagaland University and winner of the first Nagaland Choir Games 2025.
The project aims to strengthen artistic and academic ties between India and Thailand through choral music while promoting cultural exchange and mutual learning.
A highlight of the programme will be a joint concert on July 3 at Chiang Mai University, featuring performances by the NCM Choir and the Chiang Mai University Choir. The Nagaland ensemble will also hold outreach performances at McGilvary College of Divinity, Payap University, Thammanikhom Church, and Refuge Fellowship.
Conducted by Lipokmar Tzudir, one of India’s leading choral conductors, the NCM Choir has previously represented the country on international stages in Belgium, Spain, Ireland and Norway.
Officials said the collaboration marks another milestone in the growing cultural relationship between India and Thailand and underscores the role of choral music in fostering international friendship and cultural understanding.
