International university, Nagaland organises fashion artistry competition

The Department of Fashion Technology, International University, Nagaland (IUN), organised the Fashion Artistry Competition 2026 on June 26 under the theme, “Where Imagination Meets Innovation,” bringing together aspiring designers and artists from fashion institutes across Dimapur and Chümoukedima.
The competition provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity, innovation and artistic excellence through various fashion-related categories. Participating institutions included Centy J Institute, Multi Training Centre (Women Resource Development), V Movi Institute, Nagaland Fashion Institute, Dimapur, and International University, Nagaland.
The programme was compered by faculty member Thejaseno Chusi, while Inaka Sumi delivered the welcome address. Head of the department of Fashion Technology, Rosou Rhi, encouraged participants to pursue creativity, innovation and excellence in the ever-evolving fashion industry.
As part of the programme, joint registrar Dr. Durga Malakar presented an overview of the university’s departments and academic programmes. Dr. Roopam Bachhil later presented prizes and certificates to the winners, congratulating participants for their outstanding performances and commending the organising department for successfully hosting the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by faculty member Hitile Kath, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, participating institutions, judges, organisers, volunteers and students for contributing to the success of the competition.
In the Textile Printing Design category, Longshibeni Ezung of Centy J Institute secured first place, followed by Thetsala Anon of Multi Training Centre (Women Resource Development) in second place and Hainen Kath of International University, Nagaland in third.
In the Fashion Illustration category, Thepfungsano of International University, Nagaland won first prize, while Meribeni Emungrui of V Movi Institute and Khodulu Nakhro of Nagaland Fashion Institute secured second and third places, respectively.
The organisers said the competition served as a vibrant celebration of creativity and innovation while fostering collaboration and healthy competition among fashion institutes in the region and inspiring aspiring fashion professionals.
