DIMAPUR: Lions Club of Dimapur (LCD)Elite has completed 12 hunger relief projects under its flagship initiative “Sarv Jeev Sewa” during the Lionistic Year, and has now resolved to make the project a permanent monthly service activity.
Under the leadership of president Lion Meena Jain and coordination of chairperson Lion Prity Jain (Mona), the club organised food drives at multiple locations across Dimapur and nearby areas including Gurudwara Langar, Deaf Biblical School for the Deaf, Gauri Shankar Mill (Bokajan), Shani Mandir, Jain Temple Terrace, Mother Teresa Old Age Home, Prodigal Home Fellowship Colony, Shiv Mandir Rangapahar, Ananda Vatika Farmhouse (Khatkhati), among others.
According to PRO & editor Sakshi Jain Binaykia, the initiative aimed to provide nutritious meals and food support to underprivileged families, senior citizens, children, daily wage workers and even stray animals, embodying the spirit of compassion and humanitarian service. Club members actively participated in distributing cooked meals, dry rations and essential food items to ensure assistance reached those in need.
In view of the overwhelming impact and positive response from the community, the club has declared “Sarv Jeev Sewa – Hunger Relief Project” as a permanent monthly initiative, reaffirming its commitment to serve the needy and spread kindness on a sustained basis.
