Staff Reporter

DIMAPUR, JUN 28 (NPN): A non-Naga woman, identified as Roshni Begum, aged around 29 to 30 years, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Dimapur on Sunday morning, while three of her family members, including her two minor daughters and younger brother, who were initially reported missing, were later found/rescued by police.
According to information provided by the deceased’s mother, Begum was scheduled to travel to Diphu. However, when her elder brother arrived at her residence to pick her up, repeated attempts to get a response from inside the house went unanswered. He subsequently alerted neighbours and, upon gaining access to the house, she was found lying unresponsive.
Neighbours informed that there had been no reports of quarrels or disturbances in the household in recent days, describing the family as generally peaceful.
It was further learnt that the deceased had been suffering from asthma, while her husband had passed away around three years ago.
At the time of the incident, her two daughters, students of Classes 2 and 5, and her 15-year-old younger brother were also reportedly staying with her.
Family members informed that the body had been taken by police for post-mortem examination, while an investigation was underway to ascertain the cause of death and trace the missing individuals.
