Multiple power outages in parts of Kohima

DIMAPUR, JUL 1 (NPN): Power department has informed that multiple power outages are affecting several parts of Kohima following equipment failure at 132/33/11kV RESS Kohima and a fault in the 132/33kV power transformer at Chiephobozou Sub-Station caused by inclement weather.
According to a press note, Transmission Division, Kohima Er. Namheu Khate Zeliang said the affected areas include parts of Kohima Village, Kohima Town and Southern Angami area (Pfuchama to Khuzama via Jakhama) through the Kohima Ring Main Line, as well as parts of the Northern Angami area (Meriema to Botsa via Nerhema) and Pughoboto range through the Kohima–Chiethu Line.
The department said the affected areas are presently being supplied from the 132/33kV NU Meriema Sub-Station through a single 33kV feeder. Under the temporary arrangement, any fault on either the Kohima Ring Main Line or the Kohima–Chiethu Line affects power supply to both as they are being fed from a common source, resulting in multiple outages.
The department said it was making all-out efforts to restore the affected equipment and normalise power supply at the earliest. It appealed to the public to bear with the temporary inconvenience and extend cooperation until the system is restored and alternate arrangements are put in place.
