DIMAPUR: District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Niuland district was held on July 1 at the DC’s Conference Hall, Niuland, chaired by Lok Sabha MP and DISHA chairperson, S. Supongmeren Jamir.
According to a DIPR report, Supongmeren said the purpose of the meeting was to assess achievements and challenges faced by departments in implementing various schemes and projects. He urged members to freely raise issues without hesitation.
Departments of Agriculture, Water Resources, Veterinary and Labour presented comprehensive reports through PowerPoint presentations. During deliberations, Supongmeren suggested setting up a cold storage facility in the district to support agricultural activities and endorsed the matter to the district administration for a clear roadmap.
He also held extensive discussions with officials on the status and prospects of dairy products, noting that dairy farming has huge market potential.
He urged concerned officers to re examine possibilities for strengthening dairy production in the district.
On network and communication problems, Supongmeren assured that he would pursue the matter with the concerned department.
