Parul University hosts Law Conclave 2026

DIMAPUR, JUL 30 (NPN): Gujarat-based Parul University’s Faculty of Law hosted the Law Conclave 2026 in New Delhi, bringing together serving and former judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts, senior advocates, legal scholars, policymakers, academicians and students to deliberate on the evolving challenges facing the legal system in the digital era.
Held under the theme “Data, Democracy & the Rule of Law: Legal Challenges in the Digital Era,” the conclave focused on how rapid technological advancements are reshaping constitutional governance, judicial processes and legal education.
The event featured keynote addresses and panel discussions on issues including artificial intelligence in judicial systems, data protection and privacy, intellectual property in the digital economy, cyber governance, constitutional accountability and the use of digital evidence. Speakers highlighted the need for legal frameworks to evolve alongside technological innovation while remaining rooted in constitutional values, transparency and the protection of individual rights.
The conclave brought together several eminent members of the judiciary, including former Supreme Court judge Justice Rajesh Bindal, Supreme Court judge Justice Sanjay Karol, Gujarat High Court judges Justice N.S. Sanjay Gowda, Justice Maulik Jitendra Shelat and Justice D.N. Ray, as well as Delhi High Court judge Justice Tejas Karia. Senior advocates, corporate legal experts, law firm partners and legal practitioners from across the country also participated in the discussions.
Delivering the keynote address, Justice Rajesh Bindal stressed the importance of analytical thinking in the legal profession. “A good lawyer is not merely someone who reads more, but someone who has the power to think more,” he said, urging aspiring legal professionals to cultivate critical thinking and intellectual curiosity as the foundation of meaningful legal practice.
The conclave also explored the growing influence of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital governance on legal education, judicial administration, dispute resolution and policymaking. Participants agreed that technological innovation must be guided by constitutional morality, accountability and democratic principles.
As part of the event, legal platform Gavel Glory honoured distinguished members of the legal fraternity through a special awards segment recognising excellence in legal practice, scholarship and contributions to the advancement of justice.
Addressing the gathering, President of Parul University, Dr Devanshu Patel said the future of law would depend on professionals who are firmly grounded in constitutional values while being equipped to address the complexities of an increasingly digital society.
He said the Law Conclave aims to create a platform where legal education intersects with judicial thought, technological innovation and public policy, enabling students and legal professionals to contribute towards building a more inclusive, equitable and future-ready legal system.
The university said the conclave reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening legal education through dialogue, research and collaboration with leading members of India’s judiciary and legal fraternity. It added that such initiatives would help prepare future legal professionals to uphold justice, constitutional principles and the rule of law in an era of rapid technological change.
