DIMAPUR: The Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC), led by its president Kutoho Chishi organized a press conference at Congress Bhavan, Dimapur on July 1 as part of the Indian National Congress’ nationwide “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign aimed at highlighting the growing crisis in India’s education system and standing in solidarity with students across the country.
In a press release, Dimapur District Congress Committee (DCC) president Kutoho Chishi condemned repeated incidents of question paper leaks, examination irregularities, delayed recruitment processes and administrative failures. He said these lapses have crushed the aspirations of millions of hardworking students and job seekers, stressing that fair examinations, affordable education and dignified employment are fundamental rights.
State Minority chairman, Javed Sarwar, described the campaign as a significant national movement to safeguard the future of India’s youth. He expressed concern over rising unemployment and recurring paper leaks, stating that despite India being the world’s youngest nation, its education system is failing to deliver justice to students.
President of NSUI Nagaland, X Chophika, said the campaign reflects the pain and frustration of millions of young Indians. He highlighted issues such as examination delays, rising educational costs and massive unemployment, warning that these challenges threaten the future of the younger generation. Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s recent interaction with students in Kota, Chophika noted that the Congress leader launched the campaign after listening to grievances of aspirants, including those appearing for NEET, where allegations of paper leaks have repeatedly shaken public confidence.
The Dimapur DCC demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him morally responsible for repeated failures and irregularities that have damaged the credibility of India’s examination system.
Following the press briefing, the DCC organized a screening of Rahul Gandhi’s speech delivered in Kota and conducted a signature campaign among the student community to amplify their voices.
