DIMAPUR: St. Xavier Higher Secondary School, Shamator organised a Literary Competition cum Investiture Ceremony of the Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) on June 19. The occasion was graced by Col. G. P. Singh, Commandant, 32 Assam Rifles, Shamator, as chief guest.
According to a press release, Col. Singh inspired students to nurture ambitious goals and pursue them with determination, discipline and perseverance. Emphasising the importance of hard work and character formation, he encouraged young learners to strive for excellence in all aspects of life. He also shared insights on the significance of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), highlighting opportunities it offers in fostering leadership, discipline, self confidence and a spirit of service, while elaborating on the advantages of NCC certification in competitive examinations and career prospects.
The literary competition provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and creativity, while the investiture ceremony symbolised the commitment of newly appointed BSG leaders to uphold values of responsibility, service and leadership.
