Supongmeren reviews DISHA schemes in Peren

DIMAPUR: District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Peren district was held at the DC’s Conference Hall on July 3, under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP and DISHA chairperson for Nagaland, S. Supongmeren Jamir.
Addressing the meeting, Supongmeren said the objective of DISHA was to review the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and developmental activities in the district. He stressed the importance of assessing achievements since the previous meeting, identifying challenges, and collectively finding solutions to improve delivery of government programmes.
He stated that the meeting provided a platform for officials and members to openly discuss issues without bias, clarifying that the intention was not to criticise departments but to ensure effective and judicious implementation of projects. Supongmeren pointed out that communication gaps and delays in sanctioning projects at the Central level often affected timely implementation in the State.
He assured that issues and recommendations raised would be incorporated in the minutes and forwarded to concerned Ministries, while matters requiring national intervention would be taken up in Parliament. He urged members to actively participate and share views without hesitation.
During the meeting, presentations were made by Farm Manager, PBC Jalukie, Dr. Suiyipeube Mpom (Veterinary Department); Senior Inspector, Labour Department, Kevilhoubei Theünuo; and District Agriculture Officer, Dr. Zieleigai Ndang, highlighting departmental activities, schemes and progress achieved. Clarifications were sought by the MP, DC and members, with suggestions offered to strengthen implementation and ensure effective delivery of programmes.
The meeting also deliberated on several other issues concerning the overall development of Peren district.
Earlier, DC Peren, Hiazu Meru delivered the welcome address and introduced the MP, nominated non official members, and village chairmen from New Peren, Kejanglwa and Old Chalkot, who attended at the behest of the MP, along with district officials. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the DC.
