Assam Rifles conducts medical outreach at Cananram village

DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with CHC Tening, organised a community centric medical awareness and assistance programme at Cananram village under Tening sub division, Peren district, on July 4.
Situated near the Manipur border, the initiative aimed to improve healthcare awareness and access to essential medical services in the remote area. A total of 72 villagers, including children, received medical consultations, essential medicines and guidance on personal hygiene, sanitation, nutrition and prevention of seasonal diseases.
The medical team also interacted with villagers, encouraging healthy lifestyle practices and timely medical care. The outreach reflected Assam Rifles’ commitment to community welfare, particularly in border and underserved regions where healthcare access remains limited.
By working closely with civil healthcare authorities and the local community, Assam Rifles continues to strengthen mutual trust, promote well being and foster lasting civil–military relations. Reaffirming its role as the “Sentinels of the Northeast,” the force remains dedicated to serving people through compassion, outreach and nation building initiatives.
