Consultative meeting on Census held at Aghunato

DIMAPUR: A consultative meeting was held at the ADC’s office on July 4 with officials from the Census department, town councillors, ward GBs, supervisors, enumerators and community leaders, followed by an interactive doubt clearing session.
According to a DIPR report, Imkong, deputy director Census and team leader, highlighted that the Census exercise would be conducted in two phases. Stressing that census data will determine future government policies and programmes, he underscored the importance of authentic data collection and called upon community leaders to extend full cooperation to census functionaries.
In her welcome address, EAC Aghunato briefed the Census officials on the ongoing House Listing Operation (HLO) in the sub division. She informed that Aghunato has been divided into four Census Charges with a total of 89 supervisors and enumerators, including reserves, appointed for the exercise. She noted that the HLO was progressing smoothly but pointed out practical difficulties faced by census workers such as poor road connectivity and erratic mobile networks. She added that the ADC’s office was working in close coordination with concerned departments and constantly monitoring the exercise.
Queries related to the HLO app and field operations were also clarified by Census officials during the session.
