DIMAPUR, JUL 5 (NPN): The Rotary Club of Dimapur (RCD), RI District 3240, held its 55th Installation Ceremony on Sunday at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur, where Pradeep Goel was installed as president for the Rotary year 2026–27 along with his Board of Directors.
The programme was graced by Veni Vese, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Chümoukedima, as chief guest. In his address, Vese lauded the Rotary Club for its humanitarian service and community welfare initiatives, noting that acts of kindness, however small, can create lasting change in society.
“A small act of compassion can have a life changing impact on someone. The joy and gratitude that come from helping others are among the most profound feelings one can experience,” he said.
Reflecting on his own experiences, Vese spoke on the importance of empathy and generosity in today’s materialistic world. He reminded the gathering that “no person is so rich that they cannot give, and no person so poor that they cannot offer something to others.”
He emphasised that human beings are interdependent and must strengthen one another through compassion and support.
Highlighting the impermanence of life, he urged individuals to extend a helping hand without delay, stressing that even small contributions of time, care and support can make a significant difference.
Concluding his address, Vese congratulated the Rotary Club for its continued service to humanity and expressed hope that it would continue building a compassionate and humane society. He also announced himself as an honorary member of the club.
Dr. Sharma, past president, served as the Installation Officer.
Highlights of the event included the release of the club bulletin, presentation of the glance report of RY 2025–26, club recognition, PST awards to the RY 2025–26 team, DC and Inner Wheel, as well as introduction, felicitation, commitments and pledges to TRF.
The ceremony also acknowledged the outgoing and incoming office bearers.
