DC Noklak visits Kingjung, Wui villages; urges cooperation in Census, schemes

DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Noklak, P. Mono Khiamniungan, along with district administration and officials from various departments, visited Kingjung and Wui villages on July 4.
According to DIPR report, during the interaction, the DC urged villagers to extend full cooperation in implementing government schemes and stressed the importance of unity for overall community development.
He appealed to the Village Council and public to support Census 2027 officials to ensure successful completion of the exercise.
Encouraging students to contribute actively to community welfare, Mono appreciated enrolment in the village primary school and urged them to pursue education with dedication.
He also lauded Wui village’s traditional pottery making practice, highlighting its cultural significance and encouraging villagers to safeguard and promote the craft for future generations.
SDO (Civil) Noklak, Vikhoto Richa, highlighted the significance of the Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, under which both villages fall.
He appreciated the community’s cooperation and stressed the importance of proper documentation to avail government schemes.
Villagers of Wui shared grievances over poor road connectivity, challenges in the education sector and other developmental issues, seeking intervention from the administration.
As part of the programme, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Sakhi One Stop Centre, and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) under the Social Welfare Department conducted awareness sessions.
The Medical Department organised a health camp, while Aadhaar enrolment and opening of new SBI accounts were also facilitated.
