DC Mokokchung urges parties to appoint BLAs

DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung, has issued a circular reminding all recognised political parties in the district to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for each polling station under every Assembly Constituency.
The directive, issued in pursuance of instructions from the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, comes ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll, a crucial exercise to ensure accuracy, inclusiveness and transparency.
The circular stated that BLAs, as authorised representatives of political parties, play a vital role in assisting Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by verifying electoral particulars, identifying eligible electors, reporting discrepancies and facilitating effective coordination.
Recognising the importance of the exercise, the DC urged political parties to accord top priority to the appointment of Booth Level Agents at the earliest.
