Rain to continue till July 12: NSDMA

DIMAPUR, JUL 8 (NPN): Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home department, has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by localized thunderstorms and lightning across various districts from July 9 to 12.
On July 9, localized thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rain are expected over Kohima, Shamator, Mokokchung, Mon and Wokha districts. Light rainfall likely at a few places over Longleng, Noklak, Phek, Tseminyu and Tuensang, while no significant weather activity is expected in other districts.
On July 10, scattered intermittent light to moderate rainfall is expected over Shamator and Tuensang districts. Light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Mon, while isolated light rainfall may occur in Kohima, Longleng, Noklak, Tseminyu and Zunheboto districts.
On July 11, localized thunderstorms and lightning with light rainfall are likely over Peren, Phek, Tseminyu, Wokha, Dimapur and Niuland districts. Light to moderate rainfall is expected at a few places over Kohima, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang districts.
On July 12, weather activity is expected to intensify over several districts. Localized thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by light to moderate rainfall are likely over Kohima, Longleng, Meluri, Mokokchung, Mon, Phek, Shamator, Wokha and Zunheboto districts. Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at isolated places in Kiphire and Tseminyu districts, while light to moderate rainfall is also expected over Dimapur and Tuensang districts.
NSDMA has advised citizens to stay updated with official weather forecasts and advisories. It also requested the public to refer to the NSDMA Weather website and the SAFER Nagaland App for real-time weather updates.
