Sharingain graces GPS Aolijen holds recognition ceremony

MOKOKCHUNG, JUL 8 (NPN): The Recognition Ceremony of Government Primary School (GPS) Aolijen was held Wednesday at the school premises with Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer, as chief guest.
In his address, Sharingain said the recognition of a new school was possible through the grace of God and the concerted efforts of stakeholders including the Village Council, concerned department, land donors and the community. He appealed to stakeholders to maintain healthy enrolment annually so that the school may not face merger or de recognition. He added that the establishment of a school not only nurtures educated citizens but also provides job opportunities and contributes to the overall development of the village. He further urged the department to care for and guide the newly recognised school.
The programme was chaired by SMC secretary I. Tiajungba, with the welcome note delivered by Council chairman, Ungma, Sutsungkaba Tatar, and vote of thanks proposed by Matsung Salong Tatar. Students Pangkhah and Eshe presented a special song.
Short speeches were delivered by SMC chairman L. Imli Imsong, land owner Lanumeren, DEO Arenla and AEO L. Alemtemsu Ao. Invocation was said by Rev. T. Wati Lkr, Pastor UBA, while benediction was pronounced by Rev. Talijungla, Associate Pastor UBA.
