DIMAPUR: The Tuensang Forest Division under the Forest & Biodiversity Management in the Himalaya (Nagaland) Project convened an Institutional Connectivity (IC) consultative meeting on July 8 at the office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Tuensang.
In a press release issued by Tuensang Forest Division stated that the meeting brought together key stakeholders including the CCA chairman, CCA secretaries, Village Council chairmen of Hak, Nakshou, Yali, Lokhung, Momching and Saoshou villages, along with officials from the Tuensang Forest Range and Tuensang Division.
The programme began with a welcome address by Divisional Forest Officer, Dr. Prabhat Kumar, followed by proceedings chaired by Finance cum Office Manager (FcOM) Sichola and moderated by Forest Range Officer, Tuensang Range, Menya Wongto.
The meeting focused on the concept of Institutional Connectivity: Participants discussed the concept and its role in strengthening collaboration among communities.
Joint CCA Committee: Deliberations focused on its formation, structure, roles, responsibilities and adoption of rules and regulations.
Collective Conservation: Emphasis was placed on biodiversity conservation as a shared responsibility requiring coordinated efforts across neighboring villages.
Landscape-level Conservation: Six villages under the Sangyochung cluster came together to commit to conservation through joint community conserved areas.
