PGCIL donates ALS Ambulance to IMDH Mkg

DIMAPUR: The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, handed over an Ambulance with Advanced Life Support (ALS) to Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung on July 8. The inaugural programme was held at the hospital premises in the presence of Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Sharingain Longkumer, who graced the occasion as the special guest of honour.
According to a DIPR report, in his address, the Speaker expressed deep appreciation to PGCIL for its commendable contribution towards strengthening the healthcare sector in the district. He emphasized the importance of a well-equipped emergency medical transport system, noting that many lives had been lost in the past due to the absence of such facilities.
He further stated that the new ambulance would play a crucial role in providing timely medical assistance during emergencies and significantly improve access to critical healthcare services.
Sharingain also lauded the dedication of the medical fraternity at IMDH, expressing confidence that the addition of the new facility would enhance their capacity to deliver prompt and quality medical care, ultimately saving more lives.
Short speeches were delivered by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma; Chief Manager PowerGrid, Thapara Deori; president Ao Senden, Marsanen Imsong; and Medical Superintendent IMDH, Dr. Alemwapang Aier. The programme was chaired by Dr. Kilangwabang Pongener, who also delivered the welcome address, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. H.T. Sangtem.
The ambulance was formally flagged off by the Speaker in the presence of officials from the District Administration, Power Grid, IMDH and Civil Society Organisations, marking a significant step in strengthening emergency healthcare infrastructure in Mokokchung.
