Organisations condemn July 13 IED blast

DIMAPUR, JUL 14 (NPN): Several organisations, including have strongly condemned the July 13 IED blast near the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School at Chümoukedima ‘A’, which claimed the life of an Assam Rifles jawan and injured four others.
NBCC: Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has expressed profound shock and strongly condemned the bomb blast at Chümoukedima on July 13, describing it as an attack on human life, peace and the values that bind society together.
In a statement, NBCC general secretary Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener and secretary social concern Dr. Villo Naleo prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured, comfort for their families and strength for those affected.
The council also mourned the death of the Assam Rifles personnel who succumbed to injuries.
Stating that violence could never be a legitimate means of resolving differences or advancing any cause, NBCC called on the people of Nagaland to reject violence, retaliation, fear and rumours, and remain united in preserving peace, fostering mutual trust and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood.
The council urged the authorities to conduct a prompt, impartial and thorough investigation and ensure that those responsible were brought to justice, stating that accountability was essential to uphold justice, restore public confidence and prevent similar incidents.
NBCC also appealed to churches across the state to remember the incident in their prayers, seeking God’s protection over Nagaland, healing for the victims, wisdom for leaders and peace in every community.
CVC: Condemning the suspected IED attack, Chümoukedima Village Council (CVC) has strongly described the attack as a cowardly act allegedly carried out by unknown forces and expressed grief over the death of the Assam Rifles personnel while wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
The council said the incident occurred at a time when the state was enjoying a hard-won period of peace after decades of conflict, and alleged that the attack appeared to be the work of fringe elements attempting to derail the gains achieved through prolonged negotiations and the sacrifices of citizens and security personnel.
CVC said violence against security personnel was unacceptable and called upon the state and central investigative and security agencies to identify, apprehend and bring the perpetrators and their accomplices to justice. It urged the authorities to carry out a swift, professional and intelligence-led investigation while ensuring the rule of law and safeguarding civilians.
The council conveyed condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased jawan, honoured his sacrifice and prayed for strength to the family as well as the speedy recovery of the injured personnel. Reaffirming its stand against violence, CVC said the people of the state remained united in protecting peace and upholding justice.

CACV: Chümoukedima ‘A’ Village Council (CAVC) CAVC chairman Neikhole Shüya, secretary Avi Chase and Hd GB Sithoulie Kruse strongly condemned the bomb blast that occurred near the Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) Waste Management site under the jurisdiction of Chümoukedima ‘A’ Village on July 13.
The council lamented the loss of one life and expressed regret over the serious injuries sustained by others in the incident. It also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
CAVC warned those responsible for disturbing the peace and safety of the community and urged the competent authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice at the earliest.
Reaffirming its commitment to maintaining law and order, the council appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities. It also requested anyone with information related to the incident to contact the local police or the village council office immediately.

CTMK: Chümoukedima Town Mechü Krotho (CTMK) expressed profound concern over the incident, stating that such acts of violence were unacceptable and contrary to the values of peace, humanity and the rule of law.
The organisation also expressed resentment over the occurrence of such an incident within its jurisdiction, stating that attacks involving explosive devices endangered not only security personnel but also innocent civilians and undermined the peaceful coexistence upheld by the people of Chümoukedima.
CTMK called upon the competent authorities to conduct a swift, impartial and comprehensive investigation, identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice in accordance with the law.
It also conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased Assam Rifles personnel and wished the injured a speedy and complete recovery.
Reiterating its commitment to peace, communal harmony and the rule of law, CTMK asserted that violence in any form could never be justified.

NPF: Naga People’s Front strongly condemned the suspected IED blast, describing it as a cowardly act targeting security forces.
The party extended condolences to the family of the deceased personnel, prayed for the recovery of those injured and urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible without delay.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and security in Nagaland, the NPF said maintaining law and order remained essential for the well-being of the people.
