DCPU Dimapur appeals for claiming rescued children

DIMAPUR: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Dimapur has informed that four minors rescued in recent years are currently under the care and protection of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Dimapur.
In a press release issued by DCPO Dimapur, Avika Zhimomi stated that despite repeated publication in local dailies, no one has come forward to claim the children.
Details of rescued children – Aryan (unknown child), 4 years old – found wandering near Dhobinala, Dimapur on April 4, 2026. Mongru, 7 years old – found wandering at Burma Camp on August 1, 2025. Jareeb, 5 years old – found loitering around Lhomithi Colony junction on September 25, 2025. Montu Mura, 9 years old – rescued near Dimapur Train Station on December 14, 2022. John Khaira, 14 years old – found at Chumoukedima on July 23, 2022.
The DCPU has urged concerned parents, relatives, guardians or any citizen with information about the children to come forward and claim them within 30 days from the date of this press release. Failing this, the children will be declared legally free for adoption after the stipulated period.
