DIMAPUR: Director, Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Raj Priy Singh, visited Noklak district on July 14, 2026.
During his visit, Singh held a review meeting with the District Administration and line departments for the Thonoknyu Aspirational Block Programme at the Conference Hall of the Superintendent of Police, Noklak.
In his address, Singh highlighted the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047 and the Government of Indiaās strategic plan to transform the country into a fully developed nation spearheaded by NITI Aayog. He asserted that the initiative is built on four core pillars-youth, the poor, women and farmers. He also spoke on the VB GRAM G (Viksit BharatāGuarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin) Act, outlining its four domains: water security through ponds, recharge structures and irrigation facilities; core rural infrastructure including roads, paths and public facilities; livelihood related infrastructure such as rural markets and storage facilities; and extreme weather mitigation through climate resilience and disaster proofing works.
Singh urged all stakeholders to work together for the all round development of the block and district.
Presenting a PowerPoint, SDO (Civil) Noklak and Nodal Officer for Thonoknyu Aspirational Block, Vikhoto Richa, highlighted initiatives taken up in the block and gave an overview of its performance across five sectors-health and nutrition, social development, agriculture and allied, education and basic development. He also pointed out challenges faced by the block including remoteness, difficult topography, poor road connectivity, lack of banking facilities, data discrepancies, infrastructure deficits and shortages of human resources.
Earlier, DC Noklak, P. Mono Khiamniungan, who chaired the meeting, appreciated the CPO for his visit and guidance. He also lauded the efforts of various departments in uplifting the Thonoknyu Aspirational Block Programme, noting that despite challenges, Thonoknyu Block achieved 1st Rank in the Delta Ranking for the period OctoberāDecember 2025.
As part of the visit, the CPO also inspected an Anganwadi Centre, a Sub Centre, and houses constructed under PMAY G in Noklak village.
