Police announce Rs. 50,000 reward for info on IED blast

DIMAPUR, JUL 17 (NPN): The Commissionerate of Police, Dimapur, has announced a cash reward of Rs.50,000 for credible information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible for the July 13 IED blast at Khopanullah, Chümoukedima ā€˜A’, which claimed the life of an Assam Rifles personnel and injured four others.
In a public notice, the Commissionerate of Police said an intensive investigation was underway to identify and apprehend all persons involved in planning, facilitating, executing or aiding the terrorist attack.
Police stated that reward would be given for information leading to the identification or arrest of the perpetrators or their associates; persons involved in planning, financing, harbouring, transporting or facilitating the offence; recovery of explosives, explosive components, weapons, communication devices, vehicles or any other incriminating material connected with the case; or the discovery of any hideout, safe house or logistical support network linked to the offenders.
Members of the public possessing any information, however insignificant it may appear, have been requested to immediately contact 7085055003 or 7085055011, both of which are also available on WhatsApp.
Police assured that the identity of every informant would be kept strictly confidential and protected in accordance with the law. Information may also be shared anonymously, police added.
Further, the police stated that the reward would be granted after verification that the information had materially contributed to the detection of the case, recovery of evidence or apprehension of the offenders, subject to approval by the competent authority.
The Commissionerate has appealed to all citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies, assuring that all information received would be acted upon promptly and discreetly.
It may be recalled that Director General of Police Nagaland Rupin Sharma on July 15 had said that investigators were pursuing all possible leads into the July 13 blast. However, he said no major breakthrough had been made so far in identifying those behind the attack.
DGP said the investigating agencies were taking all necessary steps to identify and apprehend those responsible, but declined to divulge further details.
