DIMAPUR: ATMA Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block organised a one day Farm School programme on sustainable Eri silkworm rearing and capacity building on kharif crop cultivation at Mongsenyimti village.
The inaugural programme began with a welcome address by Aolemla Kichu, BTM, who highlighted the objectives of a farm school. Resource person Nungshiyangla, an achiever farmer recognised for her successful Eri silkworm rearing, shared practical insights on host plant management, disease control and rearing techniques. Demonstrations were conducted on disinfection methods using bleaching powder and proper shelf arrangement to prevent overcrowding and disease spread.
Further, a capacity building programme on kharif crops was conducted with the Telongjem food security group, led by resource person. Abenla B. Jamir, ATM.
Altogether, 20 participants attended the programme.
