DIMAPUR, Jul 19 (NPN): The Lazami Football Lovers organized a unique futsal match at the D Khel Ground Futsal Court, Pusolieke, Kohima Village on Saturday bringing together fans in a spirited contest between Argentina Fans and Anti-Argentina Fans.
The idea for the match was born out of a lively debate in a WhatsApp group, where football enthusiasts often teased and trolled each other over Argentina and other teams. Instead of continuing the banter online, they decided to settle the matter on the futsal court in the spirit of sportsmanship.
A total of 68 football lovers participated in the event, which turned into an exciting clash filled with skill, teamwork and camaraderie. The game remained thrilling until the final whistle, with the Anti-Argentina Fans narrowly clinching victory by 12–11.
As a fun and memorable prize, the winning team was presented with a steel plate, symbolizing their championship triumph.
The organizers emphasized that the event was not just about competition but about fostering unity and friendship among football fans. With its success, they expressed hope to continue hosting similar matches in the future to promote healthy rivalry and sportsmanship.
