61 Cong workers in Mokokchung resign en masse

DIMAPUR, JUL 21 (NPN): Sixty-one office bearers and workers of the Indian National Congress (INC) under Mokokchung district have tendered their “en masse resignation” from all party posts and primary membership with immediate effect.
In a resignation letter addressed to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president, the signatories, comprising NPCC officials, DCC officials, Youth and Mahila leaders, Minority Department chairman, Seva Dal chief organiser, DCC advisers and active executive members, said the decision was taken with deep anguish and a heavy heart. They alleged that the decision was necessitated by the “continued mismanagement and autocratic functioning” of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) leadership.
According to them, the leadership’s actions and decisions over the past few months had created “chaos, confusion and divisions” among party workers in the district.
They further alleged that instead of strengthening the party organisation and upholding democratic principles, the leadership had ignored “die-hard Congress workers” and created an atmosphere of mistrust and factionalism, severely weakening the party in the district.
Stating that they had remained loyal to the party’s ideals even when it was “on the verge of extinction in 2015”, the signatories said they could no longer remain “silent spectators to the destruction of the party organisation” in Mokokchung district and Nagaland.
They, therefore, announced their en masse resignation from all party posts, responsibilities and primary membership of the Indian National Congress with immediate effect.
