NSF flays use of police force

Dimapur, Jul 22 (NPN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has strongly condemned the “brutal use of force” by police against students protesting in New Delhi on July 20, 2026.
In a statement, NSF NSF president Mteisuding and education committee convenor Pithungo Shitio decried baton charges, tear gas, and the reported deployment of plainclothes personnel armed with lathis against unarmed demonstrators, calling such actions unacceptable in a democracy.
NSF reiterated that the protest was a legitimate call for accountability over repeated competitive exam paper leaks and the need for transparency in recruitment systems.
