DIMAPUR, JUL 22 (NPN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Wednesday held a consultative meeting of its legislators and senior party leaders at the party’s Central office in Kohima under the leadership of chief minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
According to NPF, the meeting deliberated on various issues concerning the current situation in Nagaland. Addressing the gathering, Rio highlighted the need to expedite efforts towards resolving the Naga political issue and ensure all-round development across the state. He urged the party to remain united and proactive in addressing both political and developmental challenges.
The meeting also expressed concern over the recent natural disasters that have affected different parts of the state, causing loss of lives, property and livelihoods. NPF resolved to extend all possible assistance in relief and restoration efforts and support affected communities. Organisational matters also came up for discussion, with leaders deliberating on strengthening coordination within the party, enhancing grassroots connect and charting a roadmap for the future.
Rio also appealed to the Nagas to remain united, stating that collective effort was essential to safeguard the interests of the people and achieve lasting peace and progress. The meeting reaffirmed the party’s commitment to public service, unity and the overall welfare of the Naga people.
The meeting was chaired by NPF secretary general and advisor, Achumbemo Kikon.
