NPF Wokha inspects landslide site

DIMAPUR: NPF Wokha Division, led by acting president Nzanbemo Erui, on Wednesday inspected the landslide site in Wokha, where continuous heavy rainfall across the state has triggered severe landslides and road sinking in the district.
According to NPF Wokha, the incident completely destroyed the retaining wall and left the newly constructed home of Orenthung Odyuo, vice president, NPF Wokha Division, at PWD Colony, Wokha Town.
Multiple mudslides have also been reported from Forest Colony, Lower Etsutchukha, Molonsu, Lakhuti and Bhandari sub division. Following the inspection, the party issued an appeal urging authorities to implement immediate preventive interventions and oversee relief and mitigation operations across Wokha Town and the wider district.
The NPF Wokha Division further lauded Deputy Commissioner and chairman, DDMA Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao, for his active role in mobilising emergency line departments to manage the situation and assess damages.
