Travel advisories issued for Akuluto, Mangkolemba

DIMAPUR: In view of road damage caused by incessant rain along National Highway 702A (Zunheboto–Mokokchung via Akuluto town) at Lumami village, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Akuluto has issued a travel advisory with traffic regulations to remain in force until further orders.
According to the notification, all medium and heavy vehicles including loaded trucks, pick up vehicles, buses and other heavy commercial vehicles coming from Mokokchung side to Akuluto and vice versa are diverted to the following alternative route: Mokokchung-Longsa-Sapotimi-Zhekuto-Khuniho-Kholeboto-Suruhoto-Aichisaghemi-Naltoga-Asukhomi-Akuluto and vice versa.
For light and passenger vehicles, motorists are advised to use the upper approach road through Lumami village, from the Centenary Monument to LSE Kinimi Building (approximately 500m from the Lumami village gate), where traffic movement shall be regulated.
Meanwhile, ADC Mangkolemba has issued an order prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles along the Jangpetkong and Japukong ranges with immediate effect.
The order was promulgated in view of incessant rains in Mangkolemba sub division, which have severely damaged road infrastructure and posed significant threats to commuter safety.
