DSSU peaceful protest today

DIMAPUR, JUL 24 (NPN): Dimapur Sümi Students’ Union (DSSU) has announced a peaceful protest would be staged at Supermarket, Dimapur, on July 25 from 7am to 6pm to highlight concerns over the country’s education system and press for reforms.
In a press release, DSSU president Kiyeka V. Assumi and general secretary Atono V. Swu said the demonstration aims to draw attention to issues affecting students, including the need for greater transparency, fairness, accountability, equal educational opportunities and reforms to strengthen the education system.
The union said recent nationwide concerns over examination integrity and growing calls for education reforms had underscored the need to address these issues through constructive dialogue.
DSSU assured that the protest would be peaceful and conducted in accordance with the law. It appealed to participants to maintain discipline, respect public property, cooperate with the authorities and ensure that the demonstration remains non-violent.
The union also urged the concerned authorities to engage with stakeholders and take meaningful steps to improve the education system in the interest of students and the nation’s future.
