NSCN (K-Michael) issues directive on lounges, nightlife

DIMAPUR: NSCN/GPRN-K Michael has issued a circular directing all lounges and similar establishments in Dimapur to adhere to new restrictions aimed at maintaining public peace and civic order.
The group expressed serious concern over the increasing trend of late night congregation in such establishments, which it said was influencing many young people to neglect academic, professional, social and family responsibilities, thereby affecting health, discipline, productivity and future prospects. The group noted that since the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act, 1989 has neither been successfully implemented nor revoked, the following restrictions will apply henceforth: operation of business only till 11 pm and total prohibition of nightclubs and discotheques.
