DIMAPUR: The new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex at Wokha is progressing satisfactorily and is on track for completion by May 2027, Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE), Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), Er. Sungtiba Amer said during a departmental inspection of the project on Friday.
Leading a team of CAWD officials and administrative officers, Er. Amer inspected the ongoing construction of the new DC Office Complex along with Deputy Commissioner Wokha, K. Mhathung Tsanglao. The team reviewed the overall progress of the project, inspected key structural components and assessed the pace of work against the approved construction schedule.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress achieved so far, Er. Amer said the project was advancing steadily and expressed optimism that it would be completed within the stipulated timeline. He commended the executing agency and emphasised that maintaining the current momentum would be crucial in meeting the targeted completion date. Stressing the importance of regular monitoring, he said periodic departmental inspections play a vital role in tracking implementation, addressing challenges early, ensuring quality construction and facilitating timely completion of vital government infrastructure projects.
The new Wokha DC Office Complex is being constructed as a G+1 structure with two basement floors, designed to house multiple administrative departments under one roof to improve efficiency and public service delivery. The work order was issued in June 2025 with a completion period of 36 months, and the project was approved by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (SLPMIC).
As part of the inspection tour, Er. Amer also visited Tseminyu, where he inspected the ongoing construction of the new DC Office Complex, flat type quarters and the proposed DC’s bungalow along with Deputy Commissioner Japheth Woch. The Tseminyu DC Complex, funded under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme and state funding, is designed as a G+2 RCC building with a 150 seat conference hall, accessibility features for persons with disabilities (PwDs) and provisions for an elevator.
The tour concluded in Mokokchung, where Er. Amer, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, inspected the proposed site for the new Additional Deputy Commissioner’s residence and the ongoing construction of flat type officers’ quarters.
During the tour, Er. Amer reiterated that timely completion of key administrative infrastructure is essential for strengthening governance and enhancing public service delivery across the state.
