KOHIMA, JUL 26 (NPN): Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), general secretary, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, Sunday released “Thinking Through the Times”, a new book authored by pastor, speaker and writer Liba Hopeson, at Poumai Baptist Church, Midland, Kohima.
Speaking at the book release programme, Rev. Dr. Pongener said the book had been written in response to the realities of society. While many people were able to speak and write, he remarked that only a few were able to produce a book.
He observed that writing articles required time, but producing a book demanded wisdom, sacrifice, family support and financial resources. Congratulating the author on the successful publication, Rev. Dr. Pongener expressed confidence that the book would reach a wide readership and said it would bless readers in their personal lives, families, communities and churches.
According to the author, the book is a collection of 52 articles written over a period of two years and previously published in various newspapers in Nagaland and Manipur. Published by Crown Publishing, the book is rooted in a vision of faith that engages every aspect of life and offers thoughtful reflections on social, cultural, educational, economic and spiritual issues.
The author said the book sought to challenge readers to think beyond narrow boundaries while offering practical perspectives for everyday living. He expressed hope that the publication would encourage readers not only to read but also to think critically and live meaningful lives.
Liba Hopeson has previously authored several books, including Exploring for a Better World, Igniting the Christian Mind, Facets of Life, Theology of Work, and 50 Commonly Misinterpreted Bible Verses from the New Testament.
