Mokokchung, July 30 (NPN): The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mokokchung, for the first time organised a one-day educational exposure trip for children from the Care & Support Children Home on July 28. The initiative aimed to broaden the children’s educational horizons and provide them with firsthand exposure to higher educational institutions.
As part of the programme, the children visited Fazl Ali College, where they explored the botany laboratory, zoology museum, aviary and digitised classrooms. They also toured the Horticulture Department Nursery and the State Agriculture Research Station (SARS), Yisemyong. During these visits, the children were introduced to the academic environment, various courses, and career opportunities available in higher education.
The exposure trip sought to inspire children to pursue academic aspirations beyond their present circumstances.
Through campus visits and interactions, participants gained valuable insights into higher education and the importance of perseverance in achieving their goals. DCPO Samuel Kapu expressed gratitude to the institutions for opening their doors to the children.
He noted that such initiatives play a vital role in the holistic development of children under institutional care by boosting their confidence, broadening their perspectives and motivating them to strive for a brighter future.
