DBHSS hosts annualScience and Arts exhibition

KOHIMA, JUL 31 (NPN): Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Kohima organised its Annual School Science & Arts Exhibition 2026 on July 31 at the school auditorium.
Speaking as special guest, Er. Onongoto Soleho, Chief Mentor, IHub & SEC, Department of Science & Technology, Nagaland, lauded DBHSS for having one of the best laboratories and faculty in the state.
Sharing personal experiences, Soleho said though he excelled academically, he regretted not participating actively in school activities.
He stressed that education was not confined to academics but also included extracurricular pursuits that shaped overall personality development.
Expressing concern over the performance of Naga students at the national level, Soleho noted that many were unable to meet cut-off marks or secure seats in premier institutions such as AIIMS and IITs.
He urged introspection and reassessment, emphasising the need to equip students to compete nationally.
He further underlined that both science and arts were equally important in today’s world, where skills, networking and discipline were vital.
Encouraging students to remain practical and innovative, he said their projects reflected talent and solutions to real-life problems.
The programme began with Bible reading by Muyeba Tikhir, prayer by Rector Rev. Fr. Dr. Mattam Xavier, welcome address by principal Rev. Fr. Innocent Panmei, SDB, and vote of thanks by Keneikhienuo.
