Army distributes solar lamps in Arunachal

Itanagar, Aug 1 (PTI): The Indian Army’s Spear Corps distributed solar lamps to students across multiple educational institutions in the forward border town of Tuting in Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Siang district as part of its civic outreach in remote frontier sectors.
The distribution drive was carried out by troops of the Spear Head Division in close coordination with local school administrations to address the persistent challenge of erratic power supply in the region, an official report said.
The beneficiaries included students from Siang Valley Residential English Medium School, Kindergarten Primary School, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose School, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Kendriya Vidyalaya Tuting, GTSS Tuting, Higher Secondary School Tuting, and Government Primary Schools in Pekong, Ningguing, Kugging, and Norbulling.
School authorities and students expressed gratitude for the initiative.
