Power supply disrupted in Dhansiripar, Doyapur areas

DIMAPUR, AUG 6 (NPN): Power supply to several areas under Dimapur district was disrupted after a 33/11kV, 5 MVA transformer at the Ganeshnagar substation developed a technical failure in the early hours of Thursday.
In a press release, transmission division Dimapur executive engineer SI Asangba Tikhir said the transformer developed the fault at around 3am, affecting all consumers receiving electricity from the substation.
According to the department, the affected areas include Aqahuto, Dhansiripar, Doyapur, Hebron Camp, Razaphe and and neighbouring villages.
The power department said power supply would remain disrupted until the damaged transformer was replaced and the system fully restored.
Further, the department informed that efforts were underway to arrange a replacement transformer and restore electricity at the earliest.
The department regretted the inconvenience caused and sought the cooperation and understanding of consumers during the restoration period.
