DIMAPUR, AUG 7 (NPN): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nagaland has informed that preparatory activities for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, with October 1, 2026 as the qualifying date, are underway across the state.
In a press release, CEO Nagaland said a series of capacity-building programmes, stakeholder meetings and public assistance measures were being implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the revision exercise.
As part of the initiative, SIR Help Desks staffed by dedicated personnel have been established in all district election offices to assist the public. Dedicated helpline numbers have also been made available, with contact details accessible on the CEO Nagaland website. Citizens can also seek information and assistance through the toll-free helpline 1950.
CEO said training programmes and meetings have been conducted for district election officers (DEOs), electoral registration officers (EROs), representatives of recognised political parties and other stakeholders.
At the district level, DEOs have also organised training sessions for assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs), booth level officer (BLO) supervisors, BLOs, booth level agents (BLAs) and other stakeholders.
CEO added that regular review meetings and monitoring of the SIR exercise would continue at all levels to ensure its timely and effective completion.
