DIMAPUR, AUG 9 (NPN): A major fire broke out at Vishnu Hardware, located along GS Road in Dimapur on Sunday, causing extensive damage to property.
According to reports, six fire tenders-two from West Fire Station and four from Central Fire Station-were pressed into service to contain the blaze.
Residents at the site ruled out short circuit as the cause, stating that there was no power supply in the area at the time. Power had reportedly been cut off around 10:30 a.m. due to ongoing transformer maintenance.
When contacted, fire officials said the exact cause of the fire could not be ascertained. The store owner estimated the property loss to be around Rs. 45–50 lakh.
