DIMAPUR, AUG 10 (NPN): JSS University, Noida, inaugurated its six-day Orientation and Induction Programme, for the 2026–27 academic session on Monday, marking the beginning of the university journey for more than 1,700 newly admitted students of B.Tech, B.Pharm and D.Pharm programmes.
The inaugural ceremony brought together students, parents, faculty members, university officials, media representatives and distinguished guests, underscoring the institution’s focus on providing a student-centric and transformative learning environment.
Dr. Anmol M. Andhare, Joint Secretary, University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, attended the programme as chief guest. The event was also attended by Dr. Lalith Verma, Special Officer, JSS Mahavidyapeetha, and Dr. H. R. Mahadevaswamy, Vice Chancellor, JSS University, Noida, along with senior university officials.
Welcoming the newly admitted students and their parents, Registrar Dr. T. G. Mamatha highlighted the university’s commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of students.
Dr. R. S. Jagadish, Organising Chair, gave an overview of the six-day programme, while the Dean Academics outlined the university’s academic framework, interdisciplinary learning environment and industry-oriented approach to education.
Addressing the students, Dr. Anmol M. Andhare emphasised the importance of dedication, perseverance, curiosity, discipline, resilience, innovation and patience in achieving success. He congratulated the students for choosing JSS University for their higher education and expressed confidence that their academic journey would contribute to nation-building.
Vice Chancellor Dr. H. R. Mahadevaswamy urged students to look beyond obtaining a degree and view higher education as an opportunity for personal and professional transformation.
“The next four years are not only about acquiring knowledge but about discovering your potential, developing character, embracing innovation and preparing to lead in a rapidly evolving global society,” he said.
He encouraged students to attend classes regularly, remain curious, participate in research, internships and innovation activities, and cultivate a habit of continuous learning.
“Your degree may open doors, but your attitude, skills and values will determine how far you go,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor also encouraged students to adapt confidently to university life, make effective use of the semester system, engage in industry-oriented activities and develop global competencies relevant to future careers. Students living away from home were urged to regard the university as their second home, build meaningful relationships, respect diversity and uphold the values associated with the JSS tradition.
The six-day “vH;qn;” programme has been designed to facilitate students’ transition from school to university life. The programme includes interactive sessions on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, academic regulations, Universal Human Values, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, innovation and entrepreneurship, research opportunities, career planning, communication skills, leadership, wellness and student support services.
Students will also take part in sports and cultural activities, departmental interactions, laboratory visits, digital learning orientation and sessions with experts from academia, industry and research organisations.
With a focus on academic excellence, innovation, industry engagement and value-based education, JSS University said it remains committed to nurturing globally competent professionals, responsible citizens and future-ready leaders.
