NSCN-K (YA) claims attack in Arunachal

DIMAPUR, AUG 14 (NPN): NSCN-K (Yung Aung) has claimed responsibility for an attack on a 21 Assam Rifles post at Tikhak Taipi village near Longvi in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh, early Thursday.
In a statement, the group claimed that its Naga Army tactical unit attacked the post around 3 a.m., triggering a gun battle that lasted about 45 minutes.
It claimed that casualty figures among security personnel could not be immediately confirmed.
The group also claimed that security forces subsequently imposed a lockdown in the area and deployed additional personnel and aerial surveillance.
It said its unit withdrew following the security build-up.
Describing the attack as a response to what it termed the “domination” of the Naga people, the NSCN-K (YA) said it would continue its armed campaign in pursuit of its political objectives.
