DIMAPUR, AUG 15 (NPN): The Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA) commemorated Futsal Day at Koridang Futsal Ground, Aolijen, Ungma, on August 15.
Addressing the gathering, MDFA president N. Akok Longkumer highlighted the popularity of football across all sections of society and the efforts of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and various organisations in promoting football and futsal across the State.
He said the Futsal Day observance was held under the direction of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and NFA. Encouraging young players to remain committed to the sport, Longkumer said dedication and active participation could help them take football to greater heights.
He also acknowledged the continued support extended by the Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) to the association and sought its cooperation in the future.
The programme featured a U-15 futsal kick-off match between teams from Ungma and Marepkong Ward, followed by an exhibition match between the MPC and MDFA.
The MDFA defeated the MPC 7-4 in the exhibition match.
