DIMAPUR, AUG 18 (NPN): Urban Company has launched a recruitment and outreach drive in Dimapur to provide employment opportunities for women from Nagaland in Tier-1 cities through its Beauty and Wellness platform.
Addressing a press conference, Urban Company associate director Sanjukta Bagchi said the company was expanding its Northeast project to recruit women from Nagaland and neighbouring states for placements in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi.
She said the company operates in over 50 cities with more than 50,000 service professionals, including 10,000–12,000 in Beauty and Wellness. Around 300–400 professionals from Nagaland and 3,000–4,000 from the Northeast are currently working on the platform, she said.
Bagchi said the company aims to recruit 50–100 candidates monthly from Nagaland and neighbouring regions and had already placed over 20 candidates in the past two months.
Category manager for Dimapur Sentinaro Jamir said women aged 18–40 with a minimum Class 8 qualification could apply. Selected candidates would receive free training, accommodation and travel support, along with a 100% job placement guarantee upon successful completion of the programme.
Starting monthly earnings range from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000, with additional incentives and health insurance coverage of up to Rs 2 lakh, she said.
She said the platform follows a female-to-female service model and has safety features including an SOS facility linked to the nearest police station. Service partners can also review client profiles and decline bookings if they feel unsafe.
Ayaz Naqvi, head of the Northeast project, said the recruitment process would assess candidates’ willingness to work in Tier-1 cities, along with their communication and soft skills. He described Nagaland as a promising talent pool.
Interested candidates can visit the Urban Company office at United Colony, Dimapur, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or contact 96437-44551 and 81190-77970 for details.
