CSU backs CPO on DC office concerns

DIMAPUR: Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has extended support to the Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) regarding concerns over the transfer or redeployment of sanctioned posts and personnel from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Phek, to the newly created Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Meluri.
In a press release, CSU president, Povozo Soho and general secretary, Rhilo Chiero, acknowledged the government’s decision to strengthen Meluri district but emphasised that this should not come at the cost of diminishing Phek district’s sanctioned strength. It expressed concern over personnel shortages in Phek and urged the government to withdraw any orders that would weaken its administrative capacity.
CSU maintained that strengthening of a newly created district should not come at the expense of an existing district. The union reiterated that while it welcomed development in Meluri, it was equally important to safeguard the interests and administrative efficiency of Phek district.
