DIMAPUR: District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Dimapur district was held at the DC’s Conference Hall, Dimapur, on August 19, 2026, under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP, S. Supongmeren Jamir.
Chairing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, thanked the chairman and all members and officials present, appreciating their participation in the first DISHA meeting for the district.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the Urban Development Department and various flagship programmes being implemented in the district. Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) reported construction of toilets under relevant schemes, along with awareness activities and IEC assets to promote sanitation and hygiene. Social Welfare Department informed that details of beneficiaries under the old age pension scheme had been submitted to the government. School Education Department reported visits to schools to assess requirements and submission of proposals based on findings.
Lead Bank informed that training programmes for educated unemployed youth would be conducted to support skill development and employment opportunities. Medical Department highlighted ongoing training programmes and awareness campaigns. District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) reviewed job card status and reported awareness, sensitisation and verification activities.
Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Dimapur, presented a PowerPoint on livestock development schemes under the National Livestock Mission–Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM EDP). It was informed that 100 projects have been taken up in Nagaland, including 79 piggery, six poultry and 15 sheep and goat projects. Dimapur has 14 projects comprising 12 piggery, one poultry and one sheep and goat project. The department also highlighted livestock insurance, vaccination, disease surveillance, mobile veterinary units and programmes under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
The Labour Department, Dimapur, presented welfare schemes under the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (NBOCWWB), including tool grants, compensation, education assistance, maternity benefits and life insurance. It was stated that 2,431 construction workers are registered under the scheme. The department also briefed on e SHRAM, the national database for unorganised workers.
District Agriculture Office (DAO), Dimapur, presented schemes including PM KISAN, National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF), Sub Mission on Agricultural Mechanisation (SMAM), National Mission on Edible Oil–Oil Palm (NMEO OP), National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (NFSNM), Mission for Aatmanirbhar in Pulses, PMKSY, Rainfed Area Development (RAD) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). It was informed that 2,928 beneficiaries have been registered under PM KISAN in Dimapur and Kuhuboto, with the 23rd instalment released. NMNF achieved 100 percent in two clusters covering 250 acres, while NFSNM achieved its 80 hectare target. NMEO OP covered 42 oil palm growers across 70 hectares. PMKSY and RAD achieved 100 percent coverage in their respective clusters. RKVY activities included pest management, marketing facilities, promotion of traditional crops and agro forestry.
Supongmeren stressed the importance of regular monitoring, proper coordination among departments and timely implementation of schemes to ensure that the benefits of government programmes reached the intended beneficiaries. He also thanked the committee members for their participation.
