DIMAPUR: A training programme for select staff from all districts of Nagaland engaged as Point Persons on Knowledge Management & Communication (KMC) organised by Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) commenced on August 19 at SIRD, Kohima.
Delivering the introductory note at the inaugural session, Addl. Mission Director, NSRLM, Theose Thongtsar, highlighted the importance of documentation, stating that every department or organisation is expected to maintain proper records and reports, either as data in web portals or in the form of case studies and narrative reports.
He emphasised that effective documentation should focus on process documentation, key learnings from challenges, and outcomes and impacts resulting in visible changes. Thongtsar urged KMC Point Persons to remain vigilant and document key processes to create a healthy ecosystem of knowledge sharing and cross learning.
He noted that a major challenge in the State was knowledge storage and sharing, and advised the State Mission to maintain a cache of good practices that could be replicated and expanded through innovations.
Encouraging the team to initiate publication of a quarterly newsletter of NSRLM, he said rural initiatives could then be shared across platforms. On the occasion, laptops and cameras were distributed to participants.
The release informed that the training will culminate on August 21, with participants walking through case study templates as per guidelines from DAY NRLM, MoRD, facilitated by vertical managers Imonenla Imkong Phom, Atenjen Lemtur, Rajuselie Lhousa, Ebibeni N. Humtsoe and Khriezovonuo Lhoungu. Sessions will also cover basic reporting formats and creative writing with Vishü Rita Krocha as resource person, and basic photography and short documentary making with Vitoto Sakhrie as resource person.
